Purposed For Growth
What does it truly mean to grow as a believer, and what happens when we stop? Drawing from 2 Peter 3:17-18, this message confronts us with an urgent and deeply personal question: are we actively growing in our faith, or have we allowed doubt, distraction, and complacency to quietly stall our spiritual progress? The warning is clear and sobering. When we neglect growth, we become vulnerable to the errors and deceptions that surround us every day, whether from false teaching, the mockery of skeptics, or the subtle lies of the enemy who would rather see us stagnant than advancing. The message challenges us to examine what we are actually protecting and prioritizing in our daily lives, and whether spiritual growth makes that list. Just as a doctor never skips sterilizing instruments and a farmer never forgets feeding livestock, our growth in Christ demands that same level of intentional, consistent commitment. The tremors of our spiritual shakiness do not stay contained to us alone. They ripple outward and affect our families, our relationships, and our communities. This is not a message of condemnation but of urgent, loving encouragement to get growing again, because we were purposed and predestined from the moment of our salvation to bear fruit and advance in the things of God.
