Reaching Outward

What does it mean to truly reach outward with our faith? The book of Acts opens with a striking directional shift that sets the tone for everything that follows. While the gospel of Luke traces a journey toward Jerusalem, Acts moves in the opposite direction, outward from Jerusalem to the uttermost parts of the earth. This is not a minor detail. It is the entire point. Jesus went to Jerusalem so that we could go to our neighbors, our families, our communities, and beyond. The question we are left to wrestle with is a personal one: as a result of our lives, where is the gospel heading? The early followers of Jesus did not have financial resources or organized mission programs to lean on. They had eyewitness testimony, the power of the Holy Spirit, and a command to go. We carry those same truths today. The resurrection of Jesus is not a myth or a legend. It is a historically grounded reality attested by multiple eyewitnesses who touched the risen Christ, heard his voice, and watched him ascend. When we share our faith, we are not asking anyone to believe a fairy tale. We are inviting them into a truth that changed the course of history and continues to change lives. The real challenge is not whether we know the gospel. It is whether we are willing to tell it.
